脱脂奶粉的生产现在使用蒸发法。在生产冰淇淋,雪糕、酸奶等时,为调整固形物浓度,常添加脱脂奶粉。但在脱脂奶粉的生产过程中,蛋白质的变质是不可避免的。近年来,随着消费者对奶制品质量、味觉要求的提高,生产厂家开始追求无蛋白质变质的牛奶浓缩法。膜分离的特征就是在低温下操作,无相变,因而可在不使蛋白质变质的条件下实现牛奶浓缩。此外,牛奶极易腐败,对处理过程的卫生要求很高,如必須设有加热杀菌,设备易于清洗,极力减少设备中料液的残留死角等等。厦门福美科技开发的系列反渗透膜(具有90℃热杀菌时的耐热性能、专用的膜压力容器可使膜组件内不残留料液,从而已经成功地用于牛奶生产中。除原奶浓缩外,反渗透膜还用于相关的奶制品工业,如脱脂奶浓缩,乳清预备浓缩,稀薄奶回收,还原奶精制等工艺。
